Great food, terrific service, and a magnificent view of the valley below and the sunsets. Nicely furnished and good-sized unit with beautiful decor.- Top-notch restaurant for dinner.

Very nice hotel close to the Estrela mountains. Former monastery which makes the hotel very interesting. Very good dinner restaurant.
Not walking distance for children in to Belmonte.

We enjoyed the location and the architecture. The lady on evening duty was very helpful and of the standard expected of a 4 star establishment. The breakfast was good. The establishment, besides the room, was very pleasant and we enjoyed the Historical aspects very much.
The staff were unprepared for our arrival. The fruit in the room was old and a portion of the apple was badly bruised. We did not receive the chocolates, gown and slippers which were promised. The carpets were stained and appeared unclean. The room was not of a 4 star standard which was disappointing.

Good value, room was spotless, staff were outstandingly accommodating! Thoroughly enjoyed plentiful and delicious breakfast options with soy milk and pastries and gluten free bread. Location: the hotel was near old monastery and Pousada de Belmonte. There was a gastronomic restaurant nearby.

The hotel was built in old monastery and this mix old and modern gives interesting impression. There is extremely nice view from rooms to the valley with height of bird flight. Gourmet restaraunt was one of the best for 2 weeks of our journey in Portugal.

The calming effect of the whole atmosphere their was wonderful. The scenery and rooms were great, staff friendly and very helpful. Belmonte is a quiet friendly town to explore. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves there. Had a late lunch in town at a family owned restaurant that was very good about a block into the town.
We would highly recommend spending at least one night at the Pousada for the experience.

Amazing location overlooking the valley, just a stone's throw away from a hill with breathtaking views of the countryside. You can easily explore the local museums and enjoy the convenience of having a restaurant right on-site. 🌄

The location, the design that kept the originality of the convent and the gourmet dinner.
Once at belmonte it was difficult to arrive at the hotel by car. Signposting is very poor. Coffee at breakfast was un-drinkable.

The location was magnificent and lovely, just next door to a hill overlooking the beautiful countryside. It also was near the Serra de Estrela mountains. I had a really good stay during the winter, glad I've chosen it.

large room with space for the children, swimming pool, beautiful views and fantastic dinner.
Breakfeast was rather sparce - I guess there were not that many people in the hotel - but some things did not look fresh and that was a shame. Some of the interiror and the furniture did look a biot dated and could do with a refresh.
Tourists from South Africa often stay at these properties. Ideas for your future trips.
